Scam preys on religious beliefs
SATURDAY JANUARY 26, 11am: Trading Standards officers have warned people to watch out for a scam which preys on people's religious beliefs.
Leaflets, supposedly sent by a "world famous psychic healer" called Karina Natalia have been falling on doormats for the past fortnight.
Ms Natalia claims that she has chosen the recipient of the letter to receive her prayers of "wealth, luck and happiness" when she makes a pilgrimage to Lourdes in France.
She claims those prayers will be answered to the tune of £75,000 if the letter recipient is lucky.
The letter does not ask for money, but it does ask people to fill in the questionnaire on the back.
The personal details requested include the recipient's full name, date of birth and place of birth.
This is nearly enough information with which to open a bank account.
And the sender also asks for information on pets', partners' and spouses' names - the information a lot of people use as bank and e-mail account passwords.

. Apr 25, 2008 I have also recieved these leaflets threw fault of my own, She had put her name as someone else in a soap magazine, which I have now thrown away. When i replyed to her message in the magazine which was a large spread, she sent back mail saying her name was actually Karina Natalia and that the reason she had called herself a different name was because she was offering free advise to others and she did not want her celebraties to know. So im glad that i had looked on this site as I was about to send her a check of £30. She sends free gifts such as little angel badges. which im now about to take off and throw away. Also the letters she sends are very very clevor and do make you believe that she could help you finacialy. |

. Aug 2, 2008 I have received a 9 page letter from Karina Natalia offering help adice and for me to win at least £50,OOO. Luckly I thought about looking for her on the internet as she said she was famous and had helped the police. She has asked me for £17.95p plus postage of £1.50p for gifts she will send to me. Yhank goodness I looked her up on the internet. She should certainly be stopped before she makes a fortune out ofpeople. |

. Aug 2, 2008 I have shredded Karina Natalia's letter but she has my date of birth. As far as I know that is all the information she has. Does this mean she cannot do anything with my Bank Account. Does anyone know? |

. Oct 29, 2008 I have today received the same letter. It seems this person has been advertising for years with the same scam if you type her name into your search engine. The personal details requested (like she will really pray for your pet), could easily be used to access your finances etc. We use pets and children's names and dates of birth etc for passwords generally. Quite dangerous not religious. |

Nov 8, 2008 i also received her letter and certificate from Lourdes, like everyone else i am hoping for a miracle and some cash flow. i will shredd the letter now as i have read this site. i just wanted to win some money for debt consolidation. yes she is praying on innocent and vulnerable people. i am religious and the letter from Lourdes made me give her my person details. i hope she rot in hell for using the church for her evil gains |

. Nov 8, 2008 I have had same letter today. I did give her an incorrect dob, have now binned her rubbish. Glad I looked her up on the web. thanks. She needs to be stopped. we could all make a living for doing nothing, but i'll stick to being retired. |

. Mar 21, 2009 i am so glad i looked up this site, this women needs to be stopped, i fell for it yes but lucky i sent her postal orders, not a cheque, she still has my date of birth, and address, but i will be moving next week, thank you all very much. |

. Apr 19, 2009 Wow!! I have been receiving mail from this woman for about 6 months. I got mail from her yesterday. Previously I have read her letters carefully and then decided to throw them out. I've been in a low and vulnerable state for some time and somehow, yesterday I really wondered if she could help - I actually have a cheque written out and I was about to post it - then I came onto this site. Someone needs to investigate this woman and stop her. Thanks for all the comments here as I would have sent that cheque today had I not read all your comments. |

. Apr 19, 2009 This woman advertises in decent quality magazines - full page adverts which make you think she must be decent and truly well-known. I answered her ad in "Spirit & Destiny" magazine. In these adverts she calls herself ROMAN/ROMAIN ABROMOVICH so beware of that name too. If you answer her ad she replies telling you that ROMAN/ROMAIN ABROMOVICH is a false name which she "has to use" to help "ordinary" people because if she used "Karina Natalia" in these ads her "wealthy, celebrity" clients would complain as they pay her huge fees and here she is in a magazine offering free or cheap help!!! |

Jun 7, 2009 I have been receiving all sorts of booklets and letters for the past 8 months, i noticed her ad in a magazine when i was very down and going through a bad time and i thought it was genuine, she also has my details but i now will be changing all bank details. How can she get away with this scam for so long, that is assuming she is a woman??? |

Feb 3, 2010 I to have been a victim to this person or persons,i gave her £30 for something i only received half of, sent it back, 23rd Nov 2009 recorded delivery and asked for a full refund, still waiting!! I sincerely hope this person or persons is caught and get what they deserve very, very soon. |

I am one of the many people who have received her leaflets and a word of advice do not fall for what is written. I did so in the past when I was extremely down and emotionally weak, sending money off, although i did recieve a book out lining dates and lucky numbers with a character description. All total tosh. Do not fall for it even though it does seem tempting if your vunerable. Please heed my advice.
