Co-Workers of Lisa Stebic Hire Psychic
Days after a report that cadaver dogs trained to identify dead bodies made
a positive hit during a search of missing Plainfield woman Lisa Stebic's home,
came news that friends and co-workers of Lisa Stebic hired a psychic. A
family friend told CBS 2 that the group hired the person over the weekend to
check out the state park. Lisa Stebic’s colleague, Betty Stubner places flowers
where Lisa was last seen. “Every Monday the flowers are placed on Lisa’s
doorstep…it means a lot,” said Stubner. Stubner worked with Stebic preparing
lunches at Lincoln Elementary School, and she said she came to love the missing
mother of two like a daughter. So Sunday, she, Kim Young, and about eight other
colleagues spent hours searching along a construction site in Montgomery, Ill.
for any sign of Stebic. They were led to the particular area by a Morris Ill.
psychic. Young and Stubner believe it is near a construction sight where Craig
worked. “We were out here because we got a top from a psychic we went to see who
said search the job site that he may have last been at and look for something
that had burned or where there had been a fire,” said Young, another colleague
of Stebic. Stubner says with the investigation being seemingly stalled,
searching the site seemed like the right thing to do.
“We’ve tried everything else,” said Betty Stubner. “All the ladies pooled their
information together and we thought a psychic wouldn’t hurt.”
Lisa Stebic's family spokeswoman, cousin Melanie Greenberg, agrees and
appreciates the hard work of Lisa's colleagues.
“I don’t know if I believe in psychics or not, but I’m trying to keep an open
mind,” she said.
Betty believed in the psychic power, Lisa did too -- that is why she appealed to
her directly today looking for a sign.
“Lisa we haven’t forgotten about you, we love you…we miss you,” said Stubner.
The group also searched Silver Springs State Park in Yorkville. They next plan
to contact Sylvia Brown, a nationally-known psychic who Stebic was a big fan of.
No results or findings are available, but the step is just one of many in the
search to find the mother of two that has been missing since May 1.
Stebic was reportedly last seen the evening before by her husband, Craig, with
whom she was in the middle of a divorce.
Ever since Stebic vanished, hundreds of volunteers have helped search teams from
Plainfield and neighboring communities search for her. Area residents also
turned out to help distribute her photo around the community, in an effort
coordinated by Stebic’s cousin, Mark Greenberg, and his wife, Melanie, of
Naperville.
