Native American DNA Links to Six "Founding Mothers"

Nearly all of today's Native Americans in North, Central, and South America can trace part of their ancestry to six women whose descendants immigrated around 20,000 years ago, a DNA study suggests.
Those women left a particular DNA legacy that persists to today in about about 95 percent of Native Americans, researchers said.

The original purpose of religion was to bring sacredness to life. Imagine a time (whether prehistorical or transhistorical) when human beings lived moment-to-moment in the presence of the sacred. Religion was unnecessary.

AN OUTBREAK of measles has left three people needing hospital treatment, prompting calls for parents to ensure their children are fully vaccinated.
Health Protection Scotland (HPS) said it had received reports of 36 cases of measles so far this year, compared with just four in the whole of 2007.
Health chiefs said the outbreak was mostly affecting young people who were not fully immunised.
