Do you find it difficult to sleep easy? Poor sleeping habits are unfortunately very common today, often a sign of over tiredness, depression , exhaustion all symptoms of stress we are not coping with. Bedtime Routines can help a lot to help improve sleep. If you can go to bed the same time each night. And the same applies to children. Lights out at the same time help their bodies and mind get into a routine. Start preparing for bedtime at least an hour before its night, night time. Simply drawing the curtains, dimming the nights and turning off or down the sounds from the T.V. or music encourages the body to begin to relax. Racing over that horror film or those stressful tax accounts wont get you into a deeply relaxed state. Encourage relaxing hobbies at night even for the kids. Young kids love a simple story. Adults often enjoy a relaxing foot or hand massage, if your kids are younger they will enjoy giving as much as receiving, something so simple is relaxing for both of you. Even a simple relaxing footbath if you don’t have a bath can help . Why not switch on that relaxing c.d. you keep forgetting to use or treat yourself to an easy reading magazine. If you choose a bath or footbath add a few drops of a relaxing essential oil such as lavender, this is also a great option for hyperactive kids. Water lamps or fibre optic lamps can be very soothing for kids and adults who find it difficult to switch off. Why not join a relaxation class and learn simple relaxation techniques which get you totally relaxed very quickly.
