If Things Are Not Going Well - Start Anew
|
When something is not going well, you might be tempted to focus on tomorrow as holding all the possibilities of newness. People often lament at 8:00 a.m., "I am having a bad day." How can that be when the day is only four hours old? In declaring you are having a bad day at 8:00 a.m. you have set the wheels in motion that your entire day is now bad because the first hours have been difficult. Remember, You experience what you believe. If you do not believe you experience what you believe, then you don't, which still means the first statement is true. Harry Palmer People often sigh with defeat in their voice, "Tomorrow is a new day." It is true that tomorrow is a new day, but you do not need to wait until tomorrow to start anew. You can start anew at any second, cleansing your energy field of any negativity and declaring this second the new beginning of this day. We are conditioned to believe that the sunrise and the first few hours of the day are the only thing that provides cleansing and rejuvenating our enthusiasm. Unfortunately, as the day moves on, we lose some of this dynamic energy and inspiration the new day purportedly brings. Many traditions consider the sun's light to be divine in its origin. You can cultivate that rising sun energy inside yourself, carrying it with you to light your way through your life, drawing on its power to awaken and renew your spirits. One simple way to remind yourself of the sun's energetic power is to carry a photograph with you of the sun rising above the horizon. You can also post a photograph on the wall of your work station or office, on your computer screen saver, in your brief case or anywhere easily accessible for a quick reminder throughout your day. When you sense the need to start fresh, you can take a moment to gaze at the photo, thus, allowing its light to enter into your heart. When you do this, you might say out loud or in your mind, 'This second is the first second of the rest of this day. I am ready to let go of the past and start anew.' Visualize anything you want to release leaving your mind and body as you exhale and as you inhale, visualize new energy coming in, allowing the new energy to light the way to the rest of your day.
